Spirit
We come from the realm of the Divine, pure Spirit, pure source energy.
In various traditions and teachings, aspects of this realm have been called "Atman", "Higher Self", "Divine Soul", "Origination Point."
Though individuality as we understand it in human form makes little sense from this perspective, it is the point from which we individuate - and that which calls us back to source.
Rudolf Steiner used the following words to describe it:
“More radiant than the sun
Purer than snow
Subtler than the ether
Is the Self
The Spirit of my heart
I am this Self
This Self am I.”
We are This.
We have a soul.
And we, in human form, have a body.
Soul
Our soul carries the vast accumulation of experience from many lifetimes, in bodies and in various other forms of existence on many planes and dimensions.
This soul landscape colors the light of pure Spirit which shines through us and drives our very existence. As long as this is happening unconsciously it is very much like laser light shining through a hologram - we tend to repeat and recreate old patterns and experiences stored within our soul.
Human Experience
This particular human experience which you are having now offers a special opportunity to become self-aware, to actually experience the spiritual truth of our existence. More than that it gives us the opportunity to choose to align ourselves with Spirit as the guiding force in our lives. Many use the term "Higher Self" to describe the purest experience of Spirit which we can have while in a body, an individualized spark of Spirit from which we are never apart.
Something remarkable begins to happen as we consciously build this alignment: in the focus of spiritual energy held both by our higher selves and by our individualized human self the many patterns which we have stored for so long in the landscape of our soul actually begin to transform. We begin to dissolve these patterns, to free ourselves from repeating the same behavior from lifetime to lifetime.
We are indeed living at a key moment in human evolution - a time when conscious alignment with our spiritual nature allows us to transform lifetimes of patterns from the landscape of our soul. Within one lifetime we have the opportunity to impact many, many lifetimes, past, present, future - and all our own, and all now. And we are awakening to that possibility on a mass scale.
Mutuality
As two or more human beings seeking conscious alignment with Spirit come together in mutuality, this process becomes intensified in ways which are simply not possible alone.
And as each one opens beyond his or her individual self and recognizes being part of a greater movement in consciousness, true synergy begins and we become part of a new humanity, bringing this into manifestation, individually yet together.
And ultimately, it is at this meeting point between us that we can taste and deepen into an ever more profound experience of the unfolding of our own true nature.

Releasing

As we move beyond the personal to experience the support we receive from and the interconnection we have with all of life, we move from mistrust and fear to a life grounded in love and trust. Experiencing trust in the safe space of a session or workshop and in our daily meditations we create the possibility of expanding it in all areas of our lives.
At the same time, we begin to experience the different aspects of love (described by C.S. Lewis in "The Four Loves", 1960, and further expanded by Kathleen McGowan in "The Book of Love", 2009 and "The Source of Miracles", 2009) not just as a personal or interpersonal experience but as the true nature and infinite richness of the timeless ground of being itself.
The more we free each and any of these aspects of love from any particular action, person or situation, the more deeply we drop into that quality as a core aspect of our being and also the more available that quality becomes for fully embodied expression in our daily lives.
This is particularly true of Eros which once freed from over-entanglement with sex and sexual expression becomes aliveness itself in all aspects of who we are.
And then, once named and owned, like the colors of the rainbow we can allow these aspects of love to combine again into the one light of being.
Presence & Mutuality
As we open to Presence and awaken to the light of Self the process of soul transformation begins.
Consciously aligning ourselves not only with our own spiritual identity but also with others as a reflection of the one Self, we experience even deeper the Presence which is beyond all outer forms and the energy field available for soul transformation increases many-fold.

Dr Stephen M. Marcus and Barbara Kroll currently share their work online, and previously in the form of introductory evenings, individual sessions and weekend workshops and longer retreats. Their work acknowledges that we are at the beginning of a paradigm shift from personal and spiritual transformation at an individual level to a collective awakening of humanity; they are here to serve those who feel called by this shift to facilitate a transition which is joyous and loving at the same time as it is deep and powerful.
Stephen and Barbara have been married since 2004 and have worked and taught on four continents. Coming from Britain (Stephen) and Germany (Barbara) they currently live in the ancient Cathar Country of the French Pyrenees, close to the legendary village of Rennes-le-Château.

A series of spiritual awakenings early in life and then in parallel with a career in academic research and industry has lead Stephen to embody an eclectic blend of technology in service of consciousness. He received his PhD in Experimental Psychology from Cambridge University, England, and worked on computer speech recognition at AT&T Bell Labs. He has lived in England, The Netherlands, Germany, South Africa, the US and now France.
Visits to the Findhorn Community in the early 1980s were fundamental in bringing a direct experience of evolutionary consciousness in action as it embodies through individuals and groups - not as an external force but as their very essence. During his time in Holland Stephen formed the One Earth Nederland Foundation with a regular newsletter and he focalized local groups meeting in the Netherlands.
During the first decade of this millenium Stephen met and traveled extensively with Isa and Yolanda Lindwall, the founders of the "Freedom Through Releasing" work, assisting and teaching at Releasing workshops on four continents.
In 2009 Stephen created Sacred Ground online (www.sacredground.us) using the rudimentary group video meeting tools available at the time as a portal for individuals to come together and share in, as and through "we-space" consciousness.
Most recently Stephen was deeply impacted by the work of Patricia Albere and her Evolutionary Collective, in which he participated for three years. He found this an elegant, simple, direct and immediate way to come together with others and access our spiritual origin and essence more fully than is possible alone - not for ourselves but as part of a greater whole.
His early work on Sacred Ground with online video group meetings and the current maturation and mass availability of video meeting tools such as Zoom now calls Stephen to find ways to freely share this consciousness through such tools on a large scale such that it can touch and benefit as many conscious individuals as possible, and through them our planet as a whole.
Barbara Kroll, France / Germany
Barbara has worked with Isa and Yolanda Lindwall, Founders of the “Freedom Through Releasing” work, since 1986. She was their international coordinator for 12 years, travelling with them to many countries organizing workshops and teaching Releasing. Together with Stephen she brought Releasing to the townships of South Africa from 2006 to 2009.
